A limited number of grant awards of up to $500 to employers in Kansas that are interested in creating or improving nursing employee support services and programs.

Apply for a Nursing Employee Support Grant


Priority Area:

Women who wish to continue to nurse after returning to work have few and simple needs. The Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition will fund businesses to provide any of the following:

 

Primary Items to be Funded: Secondary Items:
(funded after all primary items)
  • Electrical outlet (110V)
  • Locks on doors
  • Privacy screens/partitions
  • Comfortable chair
  • Signs
  • Table or other flat surface to hold a breast pump
  • Renovations
  • Refrigerator
  • Clock
  • Educational materials
  • Multi-user breastpump
  • Sink

Applications should address the above priority areas through creative, original approaches. Applications for items beyond the above priority areas will be considered as funding allows.  Please contact Brenda Bandy at bandy@KansasBusinessCase.com or (785) 477-4666 for more information. 

Funding Eligibility:

 

 

To be eligible to receive a grant, the business must have and provide a written breastfeeding support policy that is in compliance with the federal law.  Please contact Brenda Bandy at bandy@kansasbusinesscase.com  with questions regarding policy compliance.

Availability of Funds:

The KBC will fund a maximum of 10 proposals per calendar year for a maximum of $500 each. Additional proposals will be considered as funds allow.
 

Application Process:

Please complete the application and budget according to specifications. Completed proposals are to be emailed to bandy@KansasBusinessCase.com .

Proposals will be considered on a case-by-case basis but only if all sections of the application form are complete according to specifications. Notice of awards will be made within 30 days of receipt of an application. All funds must be expended within 90 days of the award.
 

Reporting Requirements:

Awardees will be required to submit a brief report and/or photograph (jpeg files only) demonstrating completion of the project goals. This report will be due no later than 90 days after receipt of funding. Failure to do so will result in a request for return of funds to the KBC. Reports and photographs should be sent to bandy@KansasBusinessCase.com .
 

Nursing Employee Support Grant Application

All proposals must address the questions below. Applications should not exceed a total of 4 single-spaced pages. Please use a 12-point font with one-inch margins. Please type responses to each of the questions completely and concisely.
